Trundle is the self-proclaimed King of the Frost Trolls, a cunning and ambitious leader among his kind. Though humans may see him as brutish and simple-minded, Trundle is surprisingly clever by troll standards, using his strength and wit to dominate his kin and impose his rule.

Rise to Power

Trundle’s ascent began when he was gifted a powerful weapon by Lissandra, the Ice Witch. This weapon, a massive True Ice club he named Boneshiver, gave Trundle the strength to claim the title of Troll King. In return, Trundle pledged his loyalty to Lissandra, agreeing to rally his troll army to support her Frostguard in their ongoing conflicts across the Freljord.

Appearance

Trundle is a hulking figure, standing out even among his troll brethren. His rugged, light blue skin and glowing blue eyes give him an otherworldly, frostbitten look. His wild, swept-back red hair adds to his intimidating presence, and his medium-length beard only enhances his feral image. Like other trolls, Trundle’s features include pointed ears, three-fingered hands, and sharp tusks that jut upward from his lower jaw.

His attire reflects his tribal roots, consisting of a fur-lined loincloth, a shoulder pad, and bracers on his forearms and shins. His outfit is crafted from brown leather, pale fur, and accented with red cloth and blue metal plates. His weapon, Boneshiver, is a jagged cudgel of True Ice, radiating a chilling power that matches Trundle's icy domain.

Conflict with the Avarosan

In the ongoing strife of the Freljord, Trundle’s trolls often clash with the Avarosan, a faction led by Ashe. According to Legends of Runeterra, these battles have resulted in heavy losses for the Avarosan, fueling Ashe’s hatred of trolls and her desire to see their race eradicated.

Fears and Weaknesses

Despite his bravado, Trundle harbors a deep fear: the possibility of losing his power if Boneshiver were to melt. This vulnerability is hinted at in his interactions with Nocturne in Legends of Runeterra, revealing that even a king as ruthless as Trundle has his doubts and insecurities.
